Governor Lombardo, Nevada Leaders Announce Launch of Nevada Strategic Growth Initiative (NSGI)

Governor Joe Lombardo toured the site for the second time in February, 2026 to meet with project managers and construction crew. More than 1,000 jobs will be utilized in the site’s construction alone, with completion expected in late 2027.
Thacker Pass, Nevada will soon host the largest lithium procurement site in the nation. Lithium Americas Corp., in partnership with General Motors and the US Department of Energy, are working to make domestic lithium production a reality.
